2026 Winning Quilts
Meet the Judges
Lisa Shreck
Sewing, crafting, and embroidery have been Lisa’s hobbies and challenge for as long as she can remember. Lisa shares her enthusiasm for quiltmaking and love of the textile arts in her judging style.
Through judging, Lisa celebrates the accomplishments of creativity and attention to detail while encouraging the pursuit of excellence in workmanship and design. Recognition and critiques are respectfully offered to honor both the quilt and the quiltmaker.
Lisa herself has been an award-winning quilter and textile craft artist for over 40 years and was certified by the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges in 2023. She remains committed to continued study, participation, and experimentation in the quilting arts. Lisa currently resides in Sidney, Ohio.
Kathryn Zimmerman
Kathryn is a quilter, show competitor, quilt judge, teacher and program presenter with more than 20 years of experience in the wonderful world of quilting. She has won awards at the national and regional level including five Best of Show.
Kathryn gained her National Certification with the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges in 2022. She believes that judging gives her the opportunity to provide a fair and professional critique, and to affirm well-done details as well as give inspiration and suggestions that support to reach a higher level of creative achievement.
Kathryn lives in Mars Hill, North Carolina, with her husband Herbert on a 60-acre century farm where three grandchildren play and hopefully realize the need to hold on to the land of their ancestors.
